The first image is the original, taken on my iPhone; and then the rest I edited in photoshop. I liked the crosshatching on the third and fourth ones and I may revisit those at a later time to see where else I can take it. I really REALLY like the blue one at the end. It is different but I can't help it; I simply love that one!
Nate Skinner Art :)
Welcome to Nate Skinner's Art Blog! I am a Graphic Design Major studying at WSU in Wichita, KS. On my blog you will find many of my projects done for classes; as well as projects that I have done simply because I wanted to. *Disclaimer* In my "photo sets" I post everything I do. That being said, I realize some is not that great but in order to find greatness, you must also find the ways not to achieve greatness.

The Cloud is Eating Me!
The first image is the original photo; it is a little bit blurry so I thought it may pose as a challenge to find a way to make it work. I like some of what I ended up with. I think my favorite is the sixth image (fifth remake, last before the blue ones). I tried a different hue but I did not feel like it worked at all.

The Sky is Burning!
So as the last post promised, I have posted the Sunset pics. This set is a bit larger as I was able to do more and explore more. I enjoyed this set alot more. It is cropped to fit the Fb Cover Photo as well.. I started out doing both of these sets to achieve something for my profile that i had done, and not just copied from some random site. I took my photo; Changed it MY way; and made it MINE. These are all just exploring and as of yet I have no favorites, even once I get one... We all know it will change at least a million times. Without Fail. But currently I am leaning towards the final one.
X-Project
So I was just messing around in photoshop, I tend to do that alot. Not as much recently but I did today after I finished rearranging my room... Anyways.. I took this pic last summer, you may notice it from the New Mexico post. I cropped it down to the size of a facebook Cover Photo for a profile. I just started screwing around to find something i liked, added my face into the sun on a few and just had a good time. This is what came of that. I also did some of a sunset from the same trip; Those will be in the next Post.

Lightning Pictures from the May 4th Storm
I went to see the new movie Avengers at midnight opening night last week with some people from work; when we got out of the movie around 2:45am on fri there was a storm rolling in. I got this crazy idea to chase it, but that didnt work out so well. Instead i went up on the northside of Wichita around 39th and Rock (I think? By that QT north of Sam's) and sat in the parking lot. A few of the pictures are from there and some are from the drive on my way there from the East Warren. The first four pictures are actual lightning bolts, one is of a rainshaft and the rest are of cloud lightning. I took all of these on my iPhone.

This one is right next to the second telephone pole near the middle of the picture.
Rain Shaft.
The rest of these are just some crazy cloud lightning.

Portfolio Cover Designs for Design2.
Portfolio Cover Designs for Design2.
After trying a 3D approach, I decided to stick to a flat image for this project.
I could use some more practice with 3D imaging I think.
